Elizabeth was back to her birth weight at the Doctor today; she's gained an ounce a day since the last visit. Her birth certificate arrived today, as well as some really nice clothes from Matthew, Helen and Osian. Finally, Great Aunt Julie came to visit all the way from California and brought a beautiful quilt that she had made.

Elizabeth likes lying on her mat (video 22Mb) watching the hanging toys. She can move her head to follow moving objects but doesn't turn towards interesting noises yet.
She is also happy lying on her tummy (video 32Mb). Sometimes she kicks out a lot and other times she tries to lift her head - she can manage that for only about 1 second.
February 15th 2008. (2 weeks old)
The lactation specialist today, and the Dr yesterday, said Elizabeth needs a little extra food to get her weight up. She's been growing at about ½oz a day which isn't quite enough especially as she hasn't got back to her birth weight yet. So she's getting a bit extra from a bottle after each feeding.
And there's a couple more cute sleeping pictures thrown in too.

Elizabeth had a very eventful day today :
- She got a Valentine's day card from her good friend Colin.
- She got lots of lovely presents from Granny and Grandpa, and from cousins Don and Louann.
- She went to the Doctor for the 1st time. The Doctor said she was very healthy, but needs to eat more. She also got her heel pricked for a blood test; that wasn't much fun at all!
- Her umbilical cord stub fell off.
- Auntie Jenn and Isabelle baby-sat while Mummy and Daddy went out for a quick meal.

Elizabeth was weighed today, she's up to 8lb 6oz. And since she had her hair washed yesterday, it's been spiky on top - very cute.

Elizabeth had her first full sponge bath (video 27Mb) this morning, she handled it very well. We're all looking forward to being able to go in the proper bath and splash around. Afterwards she tried on her new jeans, but they were way too big.

We went for a walk this morning to a local restaurant for lunch. Afterwards, Elizabeth was awake and very alert. Here's a short video (22Mb) of Elizabeth's closeup. Near the beginning she shows off the dimple in her right cheek.

2 beautiful babies ... this is Elizabeth and her cousin Osian when he was 10 days old.

Elizabeth has a playmat just like cousin Osian's. While Mummy was eating breakfast, and Daddy was supposed to be eating breakfast, she looked in the mirror a bit but preferred staring at the hanging things.

Elizabeth likes watching football, she got very excited when the USA scored against Mexico last night. She's sitting in the pink chair which can vibrate and make soothing sounds.

Elizabeth has many expressions, the most common of which is quiet sleeping. In the early evenings she has had long periods of alertness; her face changes a lot at these times. And, of course, she gets upset (and out of focus) at times.

Nana and Papa came to visit this evening after supper. Elizabeth enjoyed a long conversation and a sing-along.
February 4th 2008. (4 days old)
Elizabeth saw the lactation specialist today; she was very happy with Elizabeth's weight so we don't need to go back. After lunch, Elizabeth went for her first ride in her stroller. It was only around Fred Meyer, and she slept the entire time, so she could hardly be described as excited, but we thought it was fun.
After eating and playing, we were all very tired.
February 3rd 2008. (3 days old)
Elizabeth is home. We spent most of the day at the hospital getting ready and at about 5pm we took the short drive home. Elizabeth had some milk, then Aunt Debbie and Isabelle had fun dressing her in different hats. This was quite tiring, so Elizabeth wanted a nap. Her crib is very large!
February 1st 2008. (1 day old)
Elizabeth had lots of visitors today. The day started with nurses and doctors checking her health. After that, the rest the day was fun with visits from more friends and family and lots of sleeping.
January 31st 2008. (2 hours old)
Elizabeth was born at 10:13pm. She weighed 8lb 9oz, was just over 20 inches long and she has quite a lot of dark, slightly curly hair. After she was born, she was admired by her friends and family then had some milk and a sleep.
